COP for heating HVAC equipment is the ratio of the rate of heating/BTU's transferred by the unit to the rate of total energy input expressed in KW. For the Operating Cost Analysis Program, this is based upon 45 degree ambient outdoor temperature. The COP for the unit can be found in the manufacturer's ratings for their heat pump equipment.
